Day 3 Update

Hi everyone
Year 6s are all tucked up in bed… Excited to be coming home tomorrow but also excited about the fantastic day ahead tomorrow at the Museum and Floriade.

We’ve had an amazing day today. The day started off at a slower pace which was much needed by all! After a late night last night, we had a ‘Salesian good morning’ where students shared their ‘God moments’ from the previous day. Our first activity wasn’t until 10.30am so we spent some time playing on the grass at the Avenue of Flags. The kids had a ball.

We then walked to the High Court where we had a guided tour and learnt about the three types of court within the High Court. The students were amazed at the ‘height’ of the buildings and the eloquence inside!

After this we drove to where all the Embassies and High Commissions. Students were fascinated by the different buildings and the security surrounding them – particular the United States of America Embassy.

We then visited the National Art Gallery and all students were amazed by what they saw inside. We had guided tours in small groups and each group saw different areas and pieces of Art Works. They were able to interpret different pieces. The Art Gallery was a highlight for many students.

By far the highlight for most was the visit to Questacon and in particular the ‘free fall’ ride. Questacon is a hands on science experience for students over 8 different rooms that focus on different scientific aspects.

Tonight after another yummy dinner, students worked on their journals and shared a Salesian Goodnight – which is sharing of moments throughout the day & ending the day with a prayer and by saying goodnight. It’s a special moment for Dominic College students.

Finally, students packed their bags and crammed their many new purchases into their bags & it was lights out!

P.S. we have read all of your comments to the whole group and the kids have just loved it! Thanks again for your support of the Blog! We hope you’ve enjoyed following the students journey ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
